Respecting Diversity at SCORE walks volunteers through 3 reenactments of actual events that occurred at SCORE. The video shows you what should and shouldn’t happen; and offers tactics to ensure you provide a welcoming environment for all clients, as well as volunteers.
The Respecting Diversity at SCORE module consists of an online learning module as well as a facilitated discussion guide. Completing this module in a group setting allows volunteers to share their experiences, feedback and ideas for ensuring that respecting diversity remains at the forefront of our values at SCORE. The facilitated discussion guide provides a suggested format for viewing the module in a group setting. Conducting this module and discussion could be done at a chapter meeting or a chapter training day. The Sample Summary of Discussion Results is a helpful reference to see the feedback provided by a chapter during the pilot phase of this course.
The Roadmap for Leading a Diverse and Inclusive Chapter is also included as a supplemental material to this course. This resource outlines strategies to ensure diversity and inclusivity are woven into the recruitment and onboarding processes at your SCORE chapter. This roadmap can be a beneficial tool for chapter chairs and volunteers managing recruitment and orientation for new members.
